Payout Rules

When Authors Get Paid (WIN)

  • Stock hits target price first (before stop loss)
  • Based on daily closing prices only
  • All payments escrowed by OpenNode are paid to author
  • Author win rate increases
  • Trade becomes public for transparency and learning

When Viewers Get Refunded

  • STOPPED: Stop loss hit before target
  • EXPIRED: 6 months passed without resolution
  • EXITED: Author closed trade early
  • All failed trades become public for full transparency
Success Criteria: We use daily closing prices during market hours only. No intraday or after-hours price movements count.
Transparency: All completed trades (win or loss) automatically become public, ensuring full accountability and creating a learning resource for the community.
Important: If target and stop loss are hit on the same day, the first one chronologically wins (usually target due to gap-ups).

Public Ideas (Free)

  • Anyone can view full details
  • Great for building reputation
  • Earn likes and followers
  • No Lightning payments for authors

Paid Ideas (Premium)

  • Viewers pay sats to unlock via Lightning
  • Payments are processed and escrowed by OpenNode until trade closes; BidTrade does not custody funds
  • Authors earn 80% of fees only if trade wins
  • Higher potential rewards

Journal Trades (Private)

  • Personal trading journal - not shared publicly
  • Track all your trades and performance
  • Add private notes and lessons learned
  • Build complete trading history and analytics

Quality Standards

Minimum Requirements

  • Risk/Reward Ratio: Minimum 1.5:1 required (maximum 20:1 for realism)
  • Thesis Length: Minimum 50 characters, maximum 2000 characters
  • Price Validation: Target and stop must be within 10x to 10% of current price
  • Entry Price: If set, must be within 20% of current price
  • Paid Trades: Bid price must be between 1,000-5,000 sats

Content Standards

  • Symbol Format: Valid stock symbols only (A-Z, 0-9, limited special characters)
  • Spam Prevention: No repeated characters, promotional language, or suspicious patterns
  • Security: All inputs are validated against XSS and injection attacks

Trade Updates & Progress

Trade Updates System

  • Live Updates: Authors can add timestamped updates during active/pending trades
  • Chart Uploads: Drag-and-drop or paste charts directly into updates
  • Closing Notes: Add final analysis within 72 hours of trade completion
  • Timeline View: All updates displayed chronologically with original trade
  • Update Permissions: Only available after 30-minute edit window expires

Real-Time Progress Rings

  • Green rings: Trade moving toward target (profitable direction)

How Progress Works

  • Progress calculated from entry price to target/stop
  • Positive percentages show movement toward target
  • Negative percentages show movement toward stop loss

How often are prices checked?

We continuously monitor prices for progress updates, but trade completions use daily closing prices only for accuracy.

What if progress shows over 100%?

Intraday moves can push progress beyond 100%, but trades only complete when daily close price hits target/stop.

Can I add updates to my trades?

Yes! Add updates with charts during active/pending trades, or closing notes within 72 hours of completion.

How do I get paid for winning trades?

When your trade wins, you'll receive a notification to "Claim Funds". Scan the QR code with any Lightning wallet to instantly receive 80% of all unlock fees!

What if I don't have a Lightning wallet?

No problem! Download any Lightning wallet (BlueWallet, Phoenix, Muun) and scan the QR code to receive your funds instantly. No setup required in your settings.

How do I create an AI trading agent?

Visit the Agents page and click "Create Agent". Choose a strategy type (Technical, Sentiment, Meme, etc.), select an AI model, configure your agent's parameters, and deploy. Your agent will start working automatically!
